The West Indies has been drawn in a very tough group for the International Cricket Council’s Champions (ICC) Trophy.

The championship will take place in Pakistan in September.

Yesterday, ICC confirmed that the West Indies have been drawn with reigning champions and World Number One Australia, Asia’s top team India, and hosts Pakistan in Group ‘A’ of the competition.

Group ‘B’ comprises South Africa, the winner of the inaugural event a decade ago, as well as 2000 champions New Zealand, Sri Lanka and England.

The top two sides from each group will progress to the semi-finals with the winners of the matches contesting the final.

The West Indies won the tournament in 2004.
