Fugitive faces court

A 44 year old man who is wanted in the United States on drug charges is scheduled to appear in the Half Way Tree Resident Magistrates Court today.



Members of Jamaica’s Fugitive Apprehension Team and the Narcotics Division arrested Andrew ‘Genuine’ Michael Wedderburn on Friday.



He was arrested on an extradition warrant during an operation in Sheffield, Westmoreland.



Wedderburn is wanted in the United States for conspiracy to import 1,000 kilograms of marijuana and conspiracy with intent to distribute the drug.



On February 21, 2006, he was indicted by the Middle District Court, Fort Myers, Florida on several narcotics charges and a warrant issued for his arrest.



One of Wedderburn’s cronies, Enoch Gray, was also arrested and charged with possession of ganja, during Friday’s operation and is to appear in the Sav-La-Mar Resident Magistrates Court today.
