The case involving Member of Parliament for West Portland, Daryl Vaz has been rescheduled to May 21 at the Buff Bay Home Circuit Court.
The MP is charged with breaches of the Public Order Act, and the Jamaica Constabulary Force Act.
The charges follow an incident, which occurred on December 5 during a political gathering in Buff Bay.
The police said Mr. Vaz hurled expletives at Deputy Superintendent of Police Cornell Messam, and refused to obey the police’s order to discontinue the meeting.
Mr. Vaz denied the charges and said he will be seeking to clear himself.
His attorney Tom Tevarres Finson was absent from today’s hearing.
The case is expected to go to trial when it resumes in May.
