Australia’s selectors have called up left-arm pace bowler Doug Bollinger in a 12-man squad to face West Indies in the opening Test next Thursday at the Gabba.

The 28-year-old’s inclusion for just the second Test of his career is the only change to the squad named for the final Ashes Test against England in August.

While he is unlikely to make the final eleven, he joins a pace attack that comprises Mitchell Johnson, Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle who has been included after recovering from side injury.

Middle order batsman Michael Clarke has also recovered from a back strain that kept him out of Australia’s recent trips to the Champions Trophy and India while Mike Hussey has been retained despite struggling during the Ashes.

Australia and West Indies will clash in subsequent Tests at Adelaide Oval, December 4-8 and Perth, December 16-20.

Other members of the squad are Ricky Ponting, captain Brad Haddin, Nathan Hauritz, Simon Katich, Marcus North, and Shane Watson.
