Jamaicans named among trophy winners

Jamaicans Victoria Hoo and Breanna Roman were named among the High Point trophy winners at the four-day CARIFTA Swimming Championship, which ended on Sunday in Aruba.



Hoo, who helped Jamaica to one of its two gold medals on the final night, was the Girls’ 13 to 14 High Point winner with 58 points.



She teamed up with Kendese Nangle, Dania Banks and Raynae Hall to win the 13 to 14 Girls’ 200-metre freestyle relay in 1.54.2 over Barbados.



Breanna Roman, tallied 50.5 points to win the Girls’ 11 to 12 High Point winner Trophy.



Jamaica picked up nine medals on the final night to end the championship with a medal haul of 35 for fourth position.



The French Antilles easily retained the Championship title with a final points tally of 1,107.
