West Indies captain Chris Gayle will not need to undergo surgery to recuperate from a groin injury.
West Indies Cricket Board secretary, Tony Dyall said the latest MRI scan indicated that Gayle does not have a hairline fracture.
Earlier reports suggested Gayle had suffered a hairline fracture in his groin and that he would have needed surgery.
Gayle had picked up the injury during the third One Day International against Sri Lanka in St. Lucia earlier this month.
The injury forced Gayle to miss the Indian Premier League. He had joined the Kolkata Knight Riders following the One-Day International series at home against Sri Lanka.
