Japan probes radiation leak

An investigation is under way in Japan to establish the source of a radiation leak at the quake-hit nuclear plant, which left two workers in hospital.

The plant's operator says dangerously high radiation levels recorded in water at one reactor has raised the possibility that its core has been damaged.

Prime Minister Naoto Kan has described the situation as very unpredictable.

Meanwhile, the official death toll following the earthquake and tsunami two weeks ago has passed 10,000 with more than 17,440 people missing.

The Japanese government has put the rebuilding cost at $309 billion.
