The Editor, Sir:There are very few things in Jamaica that surprise me anymore. However I was a bit taken aback with the pronouncement of Peter Bunting on TVJ's Prime Time news on Tuesday, January 5.

The Editor, Sir: I think the question that captioned yesterday's article by Dennie Quill: 'Does religion make Muslims happy?' is relevant but should be more balanced and comprehensive in scope. Maybe it should read: 'Does religion make anyone happy?'

The Editor, Sir: I am concerned that in the midst of this global and national recession, that there seems to be no strategic thinking or planning on the part of our government. Why is that we move from one drought to another and still we have not made adequate provisions?

The Editor, Sir: Please allow me to publish these suggestions to whomever is chosen as the new commissioner of police for Jamaica.
