Salon Bouje brings press-on nails to ‘The Block’
Khalia Smith, the vibrant chief executive officer of Salon Bouje, who is well-known for her avant-garde views on lifestyle and beauty, gave the pop-up shop experience at New Wave Block Party a novel twist: getting your nails done at a party.
“I don’t think anyone has ever done their nails in a party before,” Smith told Living with infectious enthusiasm.
Smith went above and beyond Salon Bouje’s reputation for fusing convenience and beauty.
“We wanted to bring it to a space where you wouldn’t normally expect it to be done, just to show people how quick and easy it is. This is something fun to do! Other than dancing and listening to music, you can get your nails done. So while getting your nails done, you are having fun!” Smith said.
Customers enjoyed a unique experience at Salon Bouje’s pop-up booth, where Smith showcased her brand’s best-selling press-on nails— a simple, quick fix that can be applied in just 15 minutes.
Salon Bouje’s most recent invention, the Gloss Balm, added to the enthusiasm. Smith explained, “It is a lip balm and lip gloss all in one product. Your lips will feel incredibly moisturised, and the applicator that it comes with has a cooling effect on the lips as well.”
This was ideal for keeping the lips hydrated while taking in the festive atmosphere.
The pop-up was full of surprises, freebies, and bargains. It wasn’t just about nails and gloss. In conjunction with the event’s two-for-one ticket offering, Salon Bouje pleased customers with a two-for-one nail application deal.
“Typically, the nails are bought individually, and the nail application costs $1,000. However, if they purchased the two-for-one New Wave ticket, they [would have received] the two-for-one nail application. We’re making beauty approachable and enjoyable in a lot of ways.”
Smith alluded to more things to come, in addition to Salon Bouje shining at New Wave.
“If you are interested in experiencing what we offer here, then you can visit us at Shop 10BU, Village Plaza, Half-Way Tree, to learn more about us and see what else we have to offer,” she said.
What about upcoming pop-ups? To keep her devoted customers excited, she answered simply: “You just have to follow our social media pages to find out where we will be popping up next.”
Smith has big intentions to grow the company beyond where it is now. With her resolve evident, she declared, “I intend to open more locations nationwide, then throughout the Caribbean and beyond.”
Although many people adopt new year’s resolutions, Smith adopts a different strategy.
“I don’t make resolutions for the new year, but no matter what, I constantly aim to be better than I was before!”
