Agri minister satisfied with recovery in St Bess

Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Derrick Kellier is expressing satisfaction with the pace of recovery of agriculture in St Elizabeth.

The parish, which is the major crop producer for the country, had been severely affected in 2015.

Kellier noted that hundreds of farmers in the parish received assistance from the ministry.

Speaking with the Jamaica Information Service, Kellier said the farmers have shown resilience and that the Government was pleased that farms are once again up and running in a meaningful way.
