Traffic changes along section of Constant Spring Road in St Andrew

The National Works Agency (NWA) has diverted traffic along a section of Constant Spring Road in St Andrew to facilitate pipe-laying works between the Oakwood Apartments and Shortwood Road.

The traffic is affecting motorists travelling in the south-bound lane towards Half-Way-Tree.

Motorists are being re-directed onto Central Avenue, East Avenue, then Goodwood Terrace to exit onto Constant Spring Road in the vicinity of Telstar Cable Limited.

The traffic change will be in place for seven days.

Acting Communication Manager at the NWA Ramona Lawson says as activities increase on the major road construction projects across the Corporate Area motorists should, from time to time, expect traffic restrictions along some sections of the affected corridors in aid of advancing the works.

Lawson explains that a major part of the current activities on both the Hagley Park and Constant Spring Road Improvement projects involves the installation of sewer and water pipes as well as stormwater culverts.

She says as a result lane restrictions and other traffic changes are unavoidable.

She says the NWA endeavours to maintain two driving lanes, where possible, and provides suitable alternate routes where lanes have to be closed temporarily to facilitate works.

Motorists are being reminded to proceed with caution through the construction zones and obey warning signs and the instruction of flag persons.
