BookFusion takes PEP content digital
Jamaican primary education has taken a major step into the digital age as Caribbean-based global e-learning technology company BookFusion partners with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information (MOEYI) to introduce interactive Primary Exit Profile (PEP) content to the ministry’s digital library.
The digital content, which has already been made available to grade six students, is designed to empower students as independent learners while simultaneously creating opportunities for well-needed parental support at home. The comprehensive platform allows students to practise questions and get immediate feedback on the answers submitted.
First introduced in the 2018-2019 school year, PEP replaced the Grade Six Achievement Test, and is designed to assess students’ knowledge, in addition to placing increased emphasis on assessing students’ demonstration of the 21st-century skills, for example, critical thinking communication.
BookFusion’s interactive PEP content is now available free of cost using the BookFusion platform, or the MOEYI app for either Apple or Android devices. However, once downloaded directly through the BookFusion platform, the interactive PEP content is usable without internet connectivity, allowing for convenient use anywhere. The BookFusion platform can be accessed at https://bit.ly/2OyW8VJ.
Commenting on the development, Book Fusion CEO Dwayne Campbell noted, “ technology has become such an important part of the lives of students around the world that the best way to deliver the educational material they need to succeed is through those same platforms. What we have done with this interactive content is to allow students to achieve a greater level of engagement with the material, which in turn increases their overall understanding.”
BookFusion has additional plans in store to develop additional PEP content for grades four to six as well as introduce a wide variety of content for both primary and secondary-level students.
