Portland police probing alleged rape of CASE student
Detectives attached to the Port Antonio Criminal Investigative Branch in Portland are investigating the alleged rape of a female College of Agriculture Science and Education (CASE) student on Sunday night.
According to a police source, the student reportedly got out of a taxi on the college's property and was walking towards the administrative office when she was grabbed from behind by unknown assailant (s).
She was allegedly sexually assaulted.
Further details have not been confirmed.
Meanwhile, the college has since issued a statement saying it has been providing the necessary support to the student involved and remains committed to the safety and well-being of all students.
It is encouraging students to move in groups where possible and for them to report any suspicious behaviour to campus security or the Directorate of Students Affairs.
