KINGSTON:  Minister of Sport, Olivia Grange, has congratulated the Sunshine Girls on their winning of the recent Quad Series in New Zealand.

Grange said it was great that the Sunshine Girls created history by winning the netball Quad series for the first time and also beating the New Zealand Silver Ferns twice to win the Taini Jamison Trophy.

“The victory was even sweeter since the Silver Ferns are the number two ranked netball team in the world. It augurs well for us in the Commonwealth Games which start in Australia in a couple of weeks,” Minister Grange said.

The Malawi Queens placed third in the four-nation Series after beating the Fiji Pearls.
