Gordon, East lead Carifta trials field into U17 final

Wolmer’s Girls’ School’s Natrece East and Calabar High School's Khamani Gordon laid down claims to make the team to the Carifta Games with strong performaces in the Under 17 100m heats at the Carifta Trials this evening at the National Stadium.

East enters tomorrow's final with the fastest time, clocking 11.70 seconds, while her teammate Tiana Marshall, 11.77, is the second quickest. Hydel's Shemonique Hazle, with 11.80 has the third quickest time of the evening.

Gordon leads the boys’ finalists, clocking 10.68. Nathaniel Martin of Jamaica College was the second fastest with 10.69, while his teammate Dontae Watson was third best, hitting the tape in 10.72.
