Tyrice Taylor, Navasky Anderson through to men's 800m semis
Jamaica will field two competitors in the men’s 800 metres semifinals at the Tokyo World Athletics Championships as national record holder Tyrice Taylor and Navasky Anderson both advanced from their heats.
It was a composed performance from both athletes as they did just enough to snag automatic qualifying spots.
Running in heat four, Taylor cruised to a time of one minute, 45.13 seconds (1:45.13) to finish third in his race.
In similar fashion, Anderson timed his race to perfection to place third in heat six, finishing quickly in 1:44.87.
The semifinal round is set for Thursday at 7:45 a.m. Jamaica time.
