Guerrero vs Bowen: Showdown set to ignite Wray & Nephew Fight Nights
KINGSTON:
A clash of grit and pride is set to unfold next Saturday, December 13, as two rising light heavyweight talents step into the ring for the next instalment of the Wray & Nephew Fight Nights series set for 7 p.m. at the Constant Spring Football Field in Kingston.
Often described as a craftsman in the ring, Dominican Republic boxer Julio Guerrero will square off against Jamaica’s Jermaine Bowen in a bout charged with national spirit, and unmistakable talent. The weekend showdown will see Bowen, known for his steady footwork and relentless intensity, entering the ring as a crowd favourite. Guerrero arrives with a reputation for unyielding pressure and ring intelligence, setting the stage for a confrontation where boxing styles and cultures collide under the lights.
Boxing fans can look forward to 10 amateur under card bouts and three professional bouts spotlighting Jamaica’s fast-rising boxing stars.
In response to Hurricane Melissa, this special staging of Wray & Nephew Fight Nights will support hurricane relief initiatives in affected areas. While admission to Fight Nights is usually free, for this event patrons in general entry will be asked to contribute either a tinned food item or $500; patrons seeking a VIP experience will make a contribution of $5,000. All contributions will be directed to relief efforts supporting recovery in the impacted communities.
