Jamaican Folk Singers to perform in Montego Bay tonight
Western Bureau:
As a part of its list of events to commemorate Western Jamaica Campus Week, the Western Jamaica Campus, of the University of the West Indies, Mona, will be hosting the multiple-award winning Jamaican Folk Singers in Concert at the St John's Methodist Church Hall in Montego Bay tonight.
While the entrance fee for the event, which is slated for 6:30 p.m., is $1,500, the organisers have decided to offer special groups rates as well as a lower rate for students.
The funds generated from the concert will be used to address the campus' social responsibilities. The funds will go towards the campus' Student Financial Support Fund and the Paediatric Ward of Cornwall Regional Hospital.
Western Jamaica Campus Week starts today and ends on Sunday, December 2. Activities for the week will showcase and highlight, among other things, the courses on offer at the Montego Bay-based campus.
Tickets for tonight's concert are available at Fontana Pharmacy, Sangster's Bookstore and at the Western Jamaica Campus of the University of the West Indies, Mona.
