The Ministry of Labour and Social Security has submitted a proposal to Cabinet for a pension plan for persons over 100 years old.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alvin McIntosh, said the proposed plan is an extension of the special anniversary programme, which is in place for persons born before 1906.
Mr. McIntosh said the new pension plan would cater for persons who are over the age of 102.
He said the Ministry is currently conducting an islandwide survey to identify persons who are eligible for the programme.
He said the new programme would provide medical benefits, dietary needs and caregiving services.
