Flash Flood warning now in effect for all parishes
The Meteorological Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning to all parishes of Jamaica, until 5:00 p.m. today.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding has been reported or will occur shortly. Residents are advised to be on the look-out for fast rising waters and to take precautionary action. Motorists and pedestrians are advised not to attempt to cross fording, flooded streets or other flooded areas.
Spiral bands associated with Tropical Storm Noel now located north of Cuba, continue to produce moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms across Jamaica. Outbreaks of showers and thunderstorm will therefore, affect the island and its territorial waters today and for the next two to three days as the instability persists across the central Caribbean.
Fishers and other marine interests are advised to exercise caution due to deteriorating sea conditions in the vicinity of showers and thunderstorms, over inshore and offshore areas.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
