Jamaica record second victory

Jamaica had mixed results on yesterday’s second day of the International Tennis Federation pre-qualifying event of the Junior Davis Cup and Junior Fed Cup in Honduras.



Jamaica recorded its second victory with a 3-0 win over Haiti.



Lauren Vranov-Brown beat Chloe Pereira 5-7, 6-4, 6-0 to give Jamaica a 1-0 lead.



Lauren sister Simone defeated Athena Troullet 7-5, 6-4 to increase the lead.



The sisters then teamed up to beat the Haitian pair 7-5, 6-4 in the doubles.



However, the boys’ team lost its Junior Davis Cup match to Puerto Rico 2-1.



Enrique Maymi of Puerto Rico beat Jamaican Jordon Harris 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 for a 1-0 lead.



Brandon Burke leveled the scores for Jamaica with a 6-6, 6-3 victory over Hector Irizarry.



However, in the doubles, the Jamaican pair lost to Carlos Bruno and Hector Irizarry 6-2, 3-6, 3-6.
