Barbados sprinter injured

Barbados sprint ace and Olympic medallist Obadele Thompson pulled up injured Saturday at the Barbados National Track and Field Championship.



The 32 year old Thompson, the country’s only individual Olympic medallist, pulled up with a hamstring injury, while leading his 100-metre semi-final at the National Stadium.



Thompson said the race was his last appearance in an event at home.



It is now unclear if Thompson will pursue a spot on the Barbados team to the Beijing Olympic Games this summer.



Thompson is married to disgraced American sprinter Marion Jones, who admitted to using performance-enhancing drugs last year.



She is now serving a six-month jail sentence for lying to federal agents in the BALCO steroid investigation
