Aussies beat Sunshine girls
Jamaica’s Under-21 netballers were beaten 52-39 by the touring Australian Institute of Sports last night in game three of the best-of-three netball series at the National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.
The Jamaicans lost the series 3-0 following two other heavy defeats at the G.C. Foster College.
The Australians led 13-10 at the end of the first quarter, 26-15 at half time and 40-28 at the end of the third quarter before wrapping up the match.
Goal Attack Kim Borger finished with 23 goals from 28 attempts and Goal Shoot Josmine Keene had 20 from 24 attempts.
Jamaica Goal Attack, Christina Solomon had 20 from 24 and Goal Shoot Chrystal Gordon scored 17 from 20 attempts.
Both teams used the series as warm-up for the 2009 World Youth Championships, which will take place in the Cook Island.
