Saint Lucia\'s Minister of Tourism, Allen Chastanet, has dismissed concerns by Antigua\'s former Prime Minister, Lester Bird, over CARICOM’s plan to again attempt to market the region as a single Caribbean brand.
Mr. Bird also expressed concern that the regional governments would have to finance the $60 million marketing campaign.
Mr. Chastanet said smaller territories stand to benefit from the one Caribbean brand initiative.
He said hoteliers and other private sector interests in the region have indicated their willingness to support the plan.
