Knight accuses Golding of fabricating story

People’s National Party attorney, K.D. Knight, has accused Prime Minister Bruce Golding of inventing a story to justify hiring the law firm Manatt, Phelps and Phillips to lobby the US government on the Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke extradition.
Knight made the suggestion during this morning’s sitting of the Manatt-Dudus commission of enquiry being held at the Jamaica Conference centre in downtown Kingston.
He was questioning the Prime Minister as to whether the Justice Minister had requested his intervention in the extradition matter.
Golding told the Commission that the Justice Minister did not request his help.
However, he said at least two diplomats had hinted there could be trouble with the request and that he had received advice from someone in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the matter.
Knight then questioned why Golding had never disclosed this information before.
