Jamaica's Senior Trials set for June 26 to 28

The Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association National Senior Championships will take place from June 26 to 28 at the National Stadium.



Chairman of the Organizing Committee Ludlow Watts made the announcement at a press conference this afternoon at the Hilton Kingston Hotel.



Watt says the Championships are shaping up to be one of the best in the world.



Close to 500 athletes will be bidding for places on the national teams to the CAC Senior Championships in Cuba from July 3 to 5; the Caribbean Games in Trinidad and Tobago from July 13 to 18 and the World Championships in Berlin, Germany from August 15 to 23.



On the opening day, there will be the heats of the 400 metres, 400-metre hurdles, 100 metres and 800 metres.



The second day will be highlighted by the semifinals and final of the 100 metres and the 400 metres, while the 200-metre finals, sprint hurdle finals and 400-metre finals will take place on the final day.



The Championships will again be sponsored by Supreme Ventures Limited, who has pumped in $2.5 million, an increased of $1 million.
