Chinese national crushed to death by septic tank in Guyana

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – A 52-year-old Chinese national died on Monday after a septic tank he was building at Eccles Industrial Site, East Bank Demerara in Guyana collapsed and crushed him.
In a statement, police said that Zheng Shun Liu, an employee of the L&P construction company, was working alone in the area when the incident occurred at 9:55 a.m. (local time).
The statement said that other workers at the site rendered assistance and managed to remove Zheng from the tank, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
