Cornwall College football coach, wife charged over alleged cocaine bust at their home
St James football coach, 56-year-old Hector Wright, and his wife, 42-year-old Jodi-Ann Coke-Wright, have been charged following the alleged seizure of a quantity of cocaine at their home in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
Wright, a former national footballer and current head coach of the Cornwall College football team, and his wife are charged with possession of cocaine and dealing in cocaine.
They are scheduled to appear in court on February 25.
The police report that about 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, an operation was conducted at the couple’s two-storey dwelling.
During a search of the premises, officers discovered containers with suspicious substances.
Investigators from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division were alerted and, following inspection, the substances were confirmed to be more than 20 pieces of crack cocaine, according to police.
Both accused were taken into custody and subsequently charged.
Wright is a former national midfielder who made his debut in 1988 against Canada and earned 110 caps.
He was appointed head coach of the Cornwall College football team last season, leading the school to the Ben Francis Knockout final, where they were defeated 2–0 by Clarendon College.
