For the Year of the Sea 2025, Martinique-based Richès Karayib has released its special maritime issue #2, an immersive exploration of the Greater Caribbean’s maritime attractiveness. From Martinique to Jamaica, from Anguilla to Saint Lucia, this bilingual magazine shines a light on the people, traditions, and innovations making the sea a driving force for the region’s future.

SEA AS A CARIBBEAN CONNECTOR

Awarded the ‘La Mer en Commun’ (The Sea in Common) label by France’s Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Sea, this issue explores how the maritime world shapes tourism, culture, heritage, education, ecology, and nautical activities across the Caribbean. Through inspiring portraits and on-the-ground reporting, Richès Karayib amplifies the voices of those who bring the sea to life every day: boat builders, blue economy entrepreneurs, heritage keepers, and maritime innovators.

The current issue covers nine Caribbean countries and territories (Martinique, Guadeloupe, Anguilla, Saint Martin, Barbados, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, French Guiana, Dominica) and offers a balanced approach spanning heritage, economy, tourism, training, and environmental preservation.

CULTURAL AND SENSORY JOURNEY

Throughout its pages, Richès Karayib also weaves a cultural voyage: quotes from great Caribbean authors (Aimé Césaire, Derek Walcott, Kamau Brathwaite, Maryse Condé), spotlights on photographers (Henri Salomon, Jean-Jacques Montabord) and local artists (Llewellyn Xavier), and discoveries of exceptional destinations, including Tamarinds Hills (Antigua), Intimate Hotels Barbados, L’hôtel des Roches, l’Auberge des îles (French Guiana), and Anguilla Great House Beach Resort, a complete immersion in the Caribbean universe, where maritime heritage and cultural richness resonate as one.

ENGAGED AND RECOGNISED CARIBBEAN

Richès Karayib is an independent multimodal publication dedicated to celebrating the culture, heritage, and tourism of the Greater Caribbean. Recognised within the Caribbean maritime industry, the magazine recently covered Seatrade Cruise Global, the world’s premier cruise industry trade show, delivering exclusive reports and interviews with major sector players.

Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 14 - Life Below Water), the magazine embodies a vision of stronger, more collaborative, and more sustainable attractiveness for the region.

The special maritime issue is available for free download (digital version) and as a premium print edition (€3, free shipping) at www.richeskarayib.com.
