ASHE brings Love For Mom to MoBay this Sunday

The ASHE Company’s annual Mother’s Day concert, ‘Love For Mom’, returns this Sunday with its first-ever staging in Montego Bay, at the Iberostar hotel, for two full-length shows at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Known for its crowd-pleasing performances, the concert offers families across Jamaica a memorable way to honour the women who continue to shape their homes and communities.

Western Jamaica recently got a preview of ASHE’s performance style at the MoBay City Run, where the company’s energy, discipline and polished presentation were on display.

Love For Mom is described as "a theatrical journey of live music, harmony, movement and storytelling, spanning oldies, reggae, gospel, pop and dance". The production is designed to stir memories, lift spirits, and create a shared family experience that mothers will remember long after Mother’s Day.

Led by Executive Director Conroy B. Wilson and Artistic Director Michael Holgate, The ASHE Company has, for more than two decades, built a strong reputation in Jamaica’s cultural space, combining vocal performance, choreography and storytelling with its ongoing work in youth and social development through the arts.

“We have been bringing this show to Kingston audiences for years and, every year, mothers leave moved, joyful and celebrated,” said Wilson.

He continued, “Montego Bay deserves this experience, and we are inviting families from across the island to make it a special Mother’s Day outing. This is a show for the whole family, and it will be a beautiful way to say thank you to the women who have loved, raised, guided and carried us.”

Organisers say audiences can expect a mix of oldies and classics, alongside reggae delivered with ASHE’s signature energy. The programme will also include gospel and inspirational selections, as well as pop favourites reimagined through the company’s theatrical style.

The Love For Mom celebration will also be live-streamed, allowing audiences across Jamaica and the diaspora to share in the experience.
