On Thursday night, patrons gathered at Dubwise Cafe in St Andrew for AfroSZN, the city’s growing Afro-centric nightlife experience, for an evening of music, fashion and culture. Launched in January by radio personalities DJ Denvo and DJ Powa, the event was created as a dedicated space for lovers of Afrobeats, amapiano, Afro house and other African-inspired sounds, while highlighting the influence of African culture on music and lifestyle. Held with the support of title sponsor Double Seven, the latest staging featured a mix of Afro-centric rhythms and DJ sets, with patrons moving between the dance floor and social spaces throughout the night. Here are the highlights in today’s Something Extra.
