The Westmoreland Family Court will resume full operations next Monday, March 30, at its original Rose Street location in Savanna-la-Mar, the Court Administration Division (CAD) says. It follows temporary relocation after Hurricane Melissa caused significant damage last October.
“All necessary renovations have been completed, with the Court Administration Division covering the full cost of repairs,” said Director of Client Services, Communications and Information, Kadiesh Jarrett-Fletcher, in a statement on Monday.
She added: “Families are now able to continue accessing justice in a more stable and accommodating environment, as we return to our primary location fully prepared to meet the needs of the public… The facility now provides additional capacity, allowing the Parish Court to utilise the space when the need arises, thereby enhancing operational flexibility.”
Some sittings will continue at Whithorn Outstation until March 27.
The Westmoreland Parish Court, which has been operating from the Whithorn Outstation, will continue to function from that location.
