Police have identified the woman who died in a motor vehicle crash along the Linstead Bypass in St Catherine last week as 57-year-old higgler Roselyn Banister of Byndloss district in the parish.

Reports are that about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, Banister was walking along the right side of the roadway when she was hit by a 1998 Peterbilt motor truck.

She sustained severe injuries.

The driver reportedly told investigators that he lost control of the truck due to another truck parked on the opposite side of the roadway.

Passers-by assisted Banister to the Linstead Hospital, where she later died.

The driver of the truck was warned for prosecution.

The Bog Walk police are investigating the matter.
