The two finalists for the 2026 Jamaica Women’s Premier League (JWPL) will be decided today when the second leg of the semi-finals kicks off at the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence.

Three-time defending champions Frazsiers Whip will take on Real Mona in the opening game at 3 p.m. while Los Perfectos will face Arnett Gardens in the curtain-closer at 6 p.m.

Frazsiers Whip are heavy favourites to advance to the final once again after their dominant 5-0 win over Real Mona, while Arnett will look to hold off Los Perfectos in their tie after a 3-2 win in the first leg.

Frazsiers Whip are hunting their fourth straight hold on the JWPL title and are in fine form to do so with their perfect record this season.

Led by head coach Courtney Dowdie, Frazsiers Whip are expected to see out the second leg with ease.

Dowdie praised his players for their performance throughout the season and expects them to finish out their objective of lifting the title.

He said despite their massive lead on aggregate, they will enter today’s game with the mindset of it being a ‘fresh’ game.

“The approach is to go to the game with a scoreline of 0-0,” Dowdie explained.

“We will treat it as a brand- new game.; Iit's a fresh 90 minutes, so it's just for us to go there and see how best we can execute against Real Mona.”

Dowdie said this means that they will ensure that the players are ready to compete at their best and not become complacent after the result in the first leg.

“What we do as a coaching staff is we try to give them a bigger picture, give them a bigger purpose.

Wwe try to let them look at the bigger picture of what they can achieve by going all the way in this competition.”

CLOSE AFFAIR

The second semi-final is expected to be a close affair by two evenly matched teams.

Arnett hold the advantage after a 3-2 win in the first leg but are aware of the danger that Los Perfectos pose, particularly veteran striker Venicia Reid.

Los Perfectos head coach Ricardo Martin praised Reid, who scored a brace in the first leg to keep them in the tie.

He said his players will be ready to give a better account of themselves this time around as they chase a spot in the final.

“A two-goal lead, it's a higher mountain to climb. So now it is just a goal. s Iit's just to figure out how we're going to get that one goal and then we take it from there,” Martin said.

“When we arrive here again, they will understand what it is, and I'm pretty sure they will give us a better account.”
