A 67-run partnership between Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran has left the Jamaica Kingsmen with a challenging target as the Trinbago Knight Riders raced to 182-6 in their Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match at Sabina Park earlier tonight.
Pollard and Pooran both scored 44 to lead the Knight Riders' charge, although Pollard was characteristically the more destructive, reaching his total from just 22 deliveries, including three sixes and four fours. Pooran was similarly aggressive, scoring his 44 from 32 balls with one six and four fours.
Alex Hales contributed 29 from 21 deliveries, while Sunil Narine's unbeaten 19 from eight balls and Jyd Goolie’s 14 from nine helped the Knight Riders secure a strong position heading into the Kingsmen's run chase.
Andre Russell again produced a strong bowling performance for the Kingsmen, taking 2-34, while Hunain Shah was Jamaica's most successful bowler with 2-31.
The Kingsmen are searching for their first win of the CPL campaign after opening the season with three consecutive defeats.
