PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC):
Trinidadian trio Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine, and Kieron Pollard have been honoured with a stand bearing their names at Queen’s Park Oval.
The Bravo, Pollard, Narine Stand, formerly known as the Trini Posse Stand, was unveiled on Monday as part of Trinidad and Tobago’s 64th Independence Day celebrations.
The stand joins several sections of the historic venue named in honour of Trinidad and Tobago cricket greats, including the Brian Lara Pavilion, the Deryck Murray Players’ Gallery, the Jeffrey Stollmeyer Stand, and the Learie Constantine Stand.
The trio has played a pivotal role in the rise of T20 cricket. Pollard featured in 751 T20 matches, scoring 14,933 runs and taking 341 wickets while Bravo ended his career with 6,970 runs and 631 wickets from 582 T20 appearances.
Narine recently became only the second bowler to claim 650 T20 wickets and is the leading wicket-taker in Caribbean Premier League history. He has played 614 T20 matches.
Narine and Pollard are currently representing the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL while Bravo is a member of the franchise’s coaching staff.
