Jamaican leg-spinner Tamarie Redwood is set to take his game to the Commonwealth stage after being named in the 12-member Caribbean squad for the Commonwealth Future Stars Under-23 10-over-a-side match at CHOGM 2026 in Antigua.
Redwood, 20, represents Kensington Cricket Club locally and has taken 12 wickets in four first-class matches for Jamaica.
He has also featured in four List A matches, claiming two wickets.
The Caribbean side will face the Wider Commonwealth on Sunday, November 1 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium as part of the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) under the banner, 'One Commonwealth, One Team: A Commonwealth Cricket Celebration'.
Dominica’s Stephan Pascal will captain the squad, which brings together one emerging player from each of the 12 Caribbean Commonwealth nations. The players range in age from 18 to 22.
West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards will serve as honorary team manager.
Pascal said leading the combined Caribbean team is a proud moment.
“To captain a team made up of players from 12 Caribbean nations is a huge honour, and an opportunity that I will cherish,” Pascal said.
“Having Sir Vivian Richards as our manager makes it even more special. He is someone every young cricketer in the Caribbean grows up hearing about, and we want to make him proud on the ground that carries his name.”
The event is being hosted by Cricket West Indies in collaboration with the government of Antigua and Barbuda and the Commonwealth Secretariat, with support from Trivandi, Khalili Foundation and the Sustainable Markets Initiative.
