Dream House | A villa designed for golden hour

It took one wrong turn off the main road in Boscobel, St Mary, to come across a rough, unpaved track, leading to this never-before-seen villa.
This is a house that showcases the best of itself at sunset, harmonising natural and artificial lighting to create a magical effect.
The owner, an Adventist, observes the Sabbath beginning at sunset on Friday and ending on the corresponding Saturday. Hailing from the rural district of Hamilton Mountain, St Mary, he left our shores for the United States as a youngster, eventually working for a leading business consulting service company, serving clients in 120 countries.
His solar-powered, part three-story residence, with its blue roof, beige exterior wall, is also defined by interior and exterior circular columns, luxurious marble tiled floors, with bathroom dual sink vanities and kitchen counter tops in quartz.
Interior décor includes framed art, wood sculptures, and furniture pieces produced locally. Crisp white linens, sheer curtains, and dried floral arrangements help communicate the stylish look and feel of the enticing space.
The 6,000-square-foot building, with its inviting scenery of the Oracabessa Bay, has eight air-conditioned bedrooms with two principal suites. There are six full glass rainshower bathrooms, two with hot tubs and private toilet rooms, and two half bathrooms.
The main air-conditioned living room (another is upstairs), with its balcony and double-floor height ceiling, and air-conditioned dining room with a glass table, joins the white island kitchen, along with a fully fitted fitness centre. A double-automated door garage is incorporated.
Patios and balconies enable full enjoyment of the landscaped outdoors, with their all-encompassing views, an infinity-edge sparkling swimming pool, and a twin-grill barbecue and pizza oven area.
Taking that wrong turn has turned out to be a fortunate twist of events. Who would have ever guessed that this ‘twilight’ house existed here? This column continues fervently to find them, in whatever nook or cranny they may choose to hide on the island.
