A man who said he provides private taxi services will know his fate next Tuesday after telling the St Catherine Parish Court on Monday that he did not know he had picked up one of the most wanted men in the parish last year.

Dean Dawson testified that when he picked up Glendon ‘Bull’ Amos in Moneague, St Ann, on January 29, 2025, he had no knowledge that Amos was wanted by police and featured on ‘Wanted Wednesdays’ campaign.

"I am a security guard. I also do charter to feed my family and even scrape concrete from trucks for a living and to provide for my family," Dawson told the court.

The Clerk of Court challenged him on his stated occupation, noting that in earlier testimony on March 23, 2026, he had identified himself as a farmer.

Dawson explained that his security guard salary was insufficient and that he took on multiple jobs to support his family.

He was further pressed on a prior statement in which he allegedly responded "A dat mi hear" when police enquired whether he knew Amos was wanted.

Dawson disagreed, saying he only learned Amos was wanted after a policeman said so following their arrest.

In re-examination, defence attorney Teddison May Jackson asked his client to clarify what he meant by doing everything to feed his family.

"I mean that I do farming, construction, security and other jobs to care for my family," Dawson said.

The court will know his fate on the charge of harbouring a fugitive next week Tuesday. He has maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings.

Police said Amos was wanted for murder at the time of his capture. He was later charged.

Allegations outlined in court are that on January 29, 2025, the police acted on information that a motor car was transporting Amos.

The vehicle was observed on the Linstead Bypass in St Catherine.

It reportedly sped away onto the North-South Highway and was pursued and intercepted in Moneague, St Ann.

When the vehicle was stopped and the police asked Dawson if he knew that Amos was a wanted man, he reportedly stated that he had heard about it.
