Coley is new Barbican FC president

Barbican Football Club has appointed Miguel Coley as president and director as the club enters a new phase focused on growth, development and strengthening its role within the Barbican community.

The club’s board of directors confirmed Coley’s appointment with immediate effect, according to a release issued on Friday night.

Coley will provide leadership and strategic direction as Barbican FC seeks to strengthen its structure, expand opportunities through football, deepen its relationship with the Barbican community, and build strategic partnerships that support sustainable long-term growth.

The club said the appointment reflects its ambition to build on its history and community roots while establishing a stronger platform for the future.

“Miguel brings valuable football knowledge, leadership experience and a strong commitment to youth and community development. The board believes he is well positioned to lead the next phase of Barbican FC. He will work within the strategic direction established by the board as we strengthen the club’s governance, player-development pathway and relationship with the Barbican community,” said club chairman David Shirley.

Coley also welcomed the appointment.

There is tremendous potential here, and our focus will be on building a strong, progressive and sustainable club that creates opportunities, represents the Barbican community with pride, and continues to grow its impact on and beyond the football field.”

Coley is expected to place particular emphasis on strengthening the club’s relationship with the wider community, creating opportunities for young people and developing strategic partnerships to support the club’s continued growth and positive impact.
