Long before the final location is revealed and white-clad diners take their seats beneath the night sky, the culinary experience of Le Dîner en Blanc Jamaica begins with a picnic basket, thoughtfully packed, beautifully presented and designed for sharing. Franchise holder Tash Johnson explained that while the elegant affair is known for its dramatic secret location and striking all-white aesthetic, food remains one of the event’s most defining elements.

“Because it is a picnic, guests have the option to bring their own meals,” Johnson shared. “When we refer to meals for Le Dîner en Blanc, we’re referring to gourmet meals or charcuterie. It gives guests the opportunity to put their chef’s hat on and get creative.”

The concept encourages a shared dining culture, where friends and tablemates contribute different dishes – appetisers, mains, and desserts – transforming each setting into a collaborative picnic spread. For guests who prefer a more curated option, however, meals can also be pre-ordered through the event’s e-store once tickets are secured.

At the media launch held inside the BMW showroom on Lady Musgrave Road, organisers and culinary partners offered guests a preview of the gourmet picnic experience that lies at the heart of the globally celebrated affair.

This year, Uncorked Jamaica will serve as the official picnic partner, preparing four curated menu selections designed to balance French inspiration with bold Caribbean flavours.

“We’re kind of bringing the tropics – Jamaica – to Dîner en Blanc,” shared Robyn-Kay Campbell, marketing manager for Uncorked. “Because it actually started in France, we wanted to bring a Jamaican flair to it.”

Among the offerings showcased at the launch was a char-grilled shrimp dish paired with pineapple salsa and spicy aioli, served alongside fragrant coconut rice – a vibrant pairing that balances smoky seafood richness with the sweetness of tropical fruit and a gentle heat from island spices. Guests can also expect honey jerk chicken and a refreshing puff salad finished with passion fruit vinaigrette, dishes that reflect the island’s bold culinary identity while maintaining the refined presentation expected of the international dining experience.

CORPORATE TABLE DINING OPTION

For corporate guests seeking a more elaborate experience, organisers have also introduced a Corporate Table dining option, which allows groups to curate a fully styled tablescape paired with a bespoke culinary menu.

Chef Jacqui Tyson, who will curate the corporate dining experience, offered a preview of her Luxe Privé Gourmet Box, an elegant picnic presentation that blends French inspiration with local flavour. “This is our Luxe Privé Gourmet Box, and it can include any kind of options a guest wants,” Tyson explained while presenting the sample box at the launch. “Tonight we’re doing just a sample box. In it, we have a split of prosecco – Bellini Cipriani – a charcuterie in a cup, and we’ve added a twist of smoked marlin with a French signature.” The box also includes a croissant layered with smoked marlin and a sweet cupcake for guests who may wish to supplement their own picnic spreads.

Tyson noted that the concept was designed to preserve the relaxed charm of outdoor dining while adding a touch of convenience and luxury. “We’ve learned from experience to still keep the picnic concept,” she said. “So if you have a corporate group or a group of friends and you don’t want to juggle with the food, we will drop the food to your table in interesting picnic ways.”

Johnson noted that while guests are allowed to bring non-alcoholic beverages such as water and juices, wines must be purchased through the official platform – the event’s e-store – to ensure a consistent and curated wine experience. “To ensure that guests have the optimal experience of a Dîner en Blanc, you can’t have gourmet food without a good glass of wine and definitely can’t have a good party without a good glass of champagne.” Through a partnership with Harbour Wines and Spirits, guests will be able to select from an array of rosé, sparkling wines, red wines and champagne. Beyond the curated menus, guests will also be able to explore additional offerings through the event’s e-store, including desserts from Yummy 876 Desserts and fresh coconuts.

To further support the event’s signature tablescape tradition, organisers have partnered with Camco to offer keepsake picnic kits available for pickup on-site, allowing guests to arrive prepared with the glassware, cutlery and dining essentials that define the Dîner en Blanc aesthetic.

When the final location is revealed on event day, Saturday, May 23, diners will gather, dressed in white, to transform the space into a chic outdoor dining room. At its centre will be the same element that has defined the event around the world – a beautifully styled picnic where food, conversation and shared moments unfold beneath the open sky.
