Today, a new generation of Christian women is reshaping those perceptions, using fashion to express both faith and individuality. Christian fashion and lifestyle creator Monique McLeggon embodies that evolution. Known for her elevated yet whimsical approach to fashion, her style is colourful, expressive and sometimes unexpected, yet always rooted in intention.
“For me, modesty is more about choosing pieces that feel joyful, comfortable and authentic, while still honouring my values and less about hiding beneath layers of fabric,” McLeggon said. “Styling is a form of ministry. Through fashion, I want women to celebrate their individuality and show up boldly and confidently as the people God created them to be.”
With Jamaica’s summer heat in full force, McLeggon shows how modest dressing can still feel light, stylish and comfortable. Her selections balance coverage with breathable silhouettes and thoughtful styling, making them suitable for church, brunch, daytime celebrations or outdoor worship gatherings, without feeling predictable.
The looks also offer ideas for patrons attending Come Alive: A National Call to Worship on Saturday, August 1, at the East Lawn of King’s House. The event will feature Michael W. Smith, Papa San, Jermaine Edwards, Johnmark Wiggan and other ministers and worship leaders.
